The workplace can be both a trigger for an individual’s distress as well as a key factor in their recovery. Abermed can help organisations fulfil their legislative duty of care requirements by offering a range of services that help both prevent mental health and wellbeing problems and support those with existing concerns. Our team includes an experienced and fully trained psychotherapist, who can support clients by offering a flexible range of confidential services, including: Stress audit – an organisational stress (or cultural) audit can be carried out to measure how an organisation’s performance compares to the standards as set by the Health & Safety Executive. Training – interactive workshops can be tailored for your staff (at all levels). Topics can include general mental health awareness, stress, and developing optimism via thinking styles. Personal development – brief supportive sessions can be delivered to assist an individual resolve their difficulty. Whole Person Approach Psychological Services and Therapies - Formal therapies are delivered by appropriately trained mental health professionals Individual assessments – assessment of current mental health needs and treatment/support recommendations. Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) – a therapeutic technique recommended in the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder. Mindfulness based stress reduction/cognitive therapy – an eight-session programme, which can be delivered in groups or individually to help those experiencing stress or who are prone to recurrent depression and want to help prevent the severity or frequency of future episodes. Remote location support – we use telecommunication technology to provide psychological support services to individuals and organisations operating in remote locations, both in the UK and further afield. Post incident support – we can provide on-site support to those involved in a traumatic incident. The emphasis is on practical support and psycho-education on the possible individual experiences following a trauma. Formal therapy is not normally required immediately after an incident so an on-call telephone counselling service can be activated to provide additional support whenever and wherever it is needed. |
