|Nutrition and Diet Therapy|
There is a great deal of evidence supporting the fact that a healthy diet and lifestyle are vital for good health. Healthy people are happier, less stressed and perform at their best at work or at home.

Evidence also highlights that an unhealthy diet and lifestyle can be threatening to the working age population. The onset of poor health inevitably impacts on the ability to work, both onshore and offshore, resulting in restricted medical certificates, reduced productivity and increased absenteeism within the workforce.
Abermed can support organisations to create and maintain a healthy workforce by offering a range of Nutrition and Diet Therapy services, such as:
Nutrition and Health Presentations and Workshops
We can visit your organisation and provide a variety of presentations or workshops to your workforce on Nutrition and Health related topics.
We can hold a screening session with your employees. This session will include measurements such as Blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, height, Body Mass Index (BMI), body fat and waist circumference. Specific health promotion advice can then be given, based on these results.
These sessions maybe provided in combination with a workshops/seminar or on a stand alone basis.
We can visit your organisation and provide a clinic (1/2 day) for your employees. Your staff would be seen individually onsite, and then assessed and advised regarding diet and lifestyle change to improve their health and wellbeing or to treat an existing medical condition.
This can be held as a drop in clinic or a booked clinic with appointments arranged for staff members in advance.
We can support members of your workforce in changing diet and lifestyle behaviour in order for them to lose weight and keep it off by either:
We can set up and run a weigh in group for your staff at your workplace. Your workforce can keep an eye on their weight whilst receiving brief, accurate dietary advice and professional support. The session would run for approximately an hour (depending on amount of attendees) and could be held at a time most appropriate to your workforce i.e. during a break or lunchtime.
Your staff can attend one to one sessions with a dietician. This will involve a full dietary assessment and then provision of dietary and lifestyle advice and support in order to achieve their diet, health or weight targets. The amount of sessions required will depend on the individuals requirements and will be decided by agreement between your company, the individual and the detitian.
We can support the development, implementation and evaluation of healthy eating programmes in the workplace which may involve working with your catering team.
