| Swine Flu Update |
|
Change of recommendations regarding travel to and from Mexico and other previously designated “high risk areas” The peak of infection rate in those countries where swine flu occurred earliest has now passed. As a result of this, the advice to avoid travel to Mexico is no longer necessary except for those who have significant medical conditions. Those who have been arranging travel to offshore Mexico via other airports may wish to consider a return to normal travel. With the continuing development of the situation, it is generally felt that there is no longer any benefit in designating some parts of the world as “high risk areas” when considering fitness to travel offshore in the UK. It is therefore advised that there is no longer any need to restrict those travelling from these areas to a period of quarantine before they travel offshore. The requirement for those who have been in contact with a known case to restrict travel offshore for 72 hours (or 7 days as some have chosen) should continue. |
