Qualitative and Quantitative Face Fit Testing Course

Introduction
Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) is used when exposure to hazardous substances cannot be adequately controlled by other means. RPE must be suitable for its intended purpose; protecting health, in order to do this it is critical that the seal between the mask and the wearers face is tested. Many factors can affect this seal and tests show that the fail rate is high. We understand the challenges and limitations of the test and have incorporated this knowledge into our course.

At Abermed we understand the needs of our clients; we understand the challenges of the test and can help you manage face-fit testing with relative ease. Our course is adds value by not only focusing purely on how to conduct a face-fit test. Our courses cover both qualitative and quantitative face-fit testing. Courses can be arranged on either form of testing - this provides our clients with flexibility and broad knowledge that enables them to develop a face-fit testing strategy to suit their bespoke business needs.

Who Should Attend?
Personnel within your organisation that have been given responsibility for advising and assisting management with meeting statutory duties relating to face-fit testing. This is typically personnel appointed by management as responsible for health and safety such as safety advisors, managers and medics.

Course Overview
This course enables delegates to understand legal requirements for face-fit testing, the purpose and limitations of the test and understanding on how to best interpret results. This course also includes guidance on managing a face-fit testing programme. We are also happy to tailor the course to suit your requirements, with qualitative face fit testing training available as a ½ day course.

Course Outcome
Upon successful completion, delegates will be awarded a Face-Fit Test Certificate of Competence. Due to the practical elements of the course, and to ensure the entire syllabus is covered in 1 day, we have to limit numbers to 12 delegates per course. This course is managed by our Senior Occupational Hygienist, who is registered with the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene and is a specialist in Vibration at Work.
